ABOUT US

Corbus Library Consultants was established by Lawrence Corbus in 1989 and has served hundreds of public libraries in achieving success. Satisfied clients include The Chicago Public Library, State Library of Ohio, King County Public Library (WA), Coconino County (AZ) and Baker and Taylor Company.

CLC conducted its first director search in 1990. Soon, CLC began specializing in director searches and has continued to conduct successful searches every year since, focusing on searches for public library directors. CLC has conducted searches for all size libraries but has developed a unique expertise in director searches for medium to small library systems

CLC has also specialized in library advancement. CLC has worked on over fifty referendums of which nearly ninety percent have been successful.  The CLC approach is based on leading libraries to understand what their communities want and need and determining what they will support. CLC has helped libraries plan for success.

As part of that process, CLC has conducted hundreds of focus groups with library personnel and clients throughout the United States. In that process, CLC has become a good listener.
